If you are looking for, or want to post advertisements for, other types of turtles, or other reptiles and amphibians and supplies please review our classified index for the appropriate category.

Graptemys is a genus of turtles known commonly as map turtles due to the map-like markings on the carapace. They are aquatic, freshwater turtles that are found throughout the eastern half of the United States and northward into southern Canada.

There are currently 14 recognized species of map turtles. Due to pressures from commerical collection, many species of map turtle are protected or regulated in their native ranges.
