Sunset Blue-tongued Skink (Northern), Male, 2021

Blue-tongued Skink (Northern), Tiliqua scincoides intermedia

Very nice Sunset male

• Difficulty: Intermediate (needs husbandry kept on target)

• Time commitment: High (Hatchlings to 3 months fed daily, 3-8 months three times weekly, adults once or twice weekly, on an omnivorous diet that has to be built rather than bought. UVB fixture replaced every 12 months. Water fouled frequently and disinfected. Humidity held 35-50%.)

• Current Weight: 0g as of

• Disposition: Not bad for a male. A little defensive but does not bite..

• Expected size: Small (18-24 inches total length.)

• Footprint: Medium (48" x 24" x 24" is the minimum for an adult and more floor is better. Floor space matters more than height. One skink per enclosure, for life.)

• Vertical space: Minimal (Floor space is more important than height for a northern. Terrestrial and burrowing, in 4-6 inches of diggable substrate.)
